Yoga Massage

Yoga massage involves pressure being applied over the muscles by the therapist using their hands and feet whilst in various yoga positions.

After softening the tissues the therapist will move the client in various positions to get in at different angles and to stretch out and mobilise the tissue. Movement is important in our everyday lives. There are a lot of ways our hips, shoulders, and spine, etc don’t move day today so we lose range of motion which causes stiffness and pain. As long as there are no joint issues, gentle traction techniques will be applied to the joints to lengthen the tissue and create space in the joints.

Yoga massage offers many benefits:

You will be passively mobilised and stretched by the therapist so it would be unsuitable for anybody with joint instability.

This is done on a thick mat on the floor (you must be uninjured and able to get up and down comfortably) you will be fully clothed and pressure will be applied over the muscles by the therapist using her hands and feet. 
If you are under 60kg, therapeutic flying may be incorporated which is where the therapist will lift you and balance you on her hands and feet, whilst mobilising you.
